Finding abyss gear recipes

Internet has a hard time telling me where to find certain recipes for abyss gears - are they all in pre-determined locations or is there a particular farm or game mechanic i have to unlock?

I have the recipes for damage and crit chance, but I really need to upgrade the gears in my armor. Does anyone know where I can find the recipes for Fortification (+1 defense), Flameward/Iceward/Shockward (fire, ice, lightning resistance), Fortune (+10% silver gained, Aptitude (+10% skill exp gain)?

Also if anyone knows if Aegis (Damage Reduction 1) is better than Fortification? The game doesn't explain how either one actually works mathematically, but if anyone has tested it that would be good to know

IIRC the fortification and aegis ones are from the witch in Pailune. You can find her slightly east of the Witch Hut in the middle of the forest that gets revealed when you use the Pailune Bell. She's in the mountains under a shack. After you save her her real location will show up.

I'm still trying to find the other recipes you're asking after.

The only witch I haven't purchased recipes from is the one in delesyia, havent visited that area yet

I got the Fortification and Aegis recipes from the witch at Serpent Marsh instead.

So an Amazing way to find Abyss Gear recipes is through camp mission. The mission would be in the DEMENISS TAB in the MISSION DISPATCH area in the camp. The name of the mission is THE KINGSHIELD DIG SITE EXPLORATION. One thing you do want to do is set up the camp where all resources are being farmed via Dispatch missions. All resource missions restart on their own. But those missions for recipes don’t so you’ll have to track those on your own for the most effective way to farm them. Here and there you’ll get some gears but most of the time you’ll get recipes..

thanks, i dont think i have that area unlocked/liberated yet but its good to know there is one for this purpose, i will check it out later

The last witch should give you destruction and such for attack oriented recipes.
Plus you need to 100% relations with witches for a bonus recipe.

All the basic utility gear blueprints are sold by witches, they won't sell any of the environmental protected blueprints though (shockward, flameword etc).

You can get them from camp exploration missions. Totally random though.

there are 3 ruins i have un locked sofar for missions, reachwood in hernand, verhiem in pailune(other in the dispatch listing), kingshield in Demeniss, im sure Delesyia has one but these were locked behind some long questlines..

all 3 are giving me different gear recipes but im sure they all have a set list of what they have.
