Im on the quest line where im supposed to kill black fang. I have now done it twice. He just goes up in smoke and respawn...

Same, quest must be bugged, did you find a fix?

Must be bugged.
When I did it last week he ran after his first health bar and you had to track him down then he got more aggressive and you had to finish him.

Note after you do it you will get a knowledge thing that shows where all the legendaries are.
The white wolf for the mount is right nearby.
