2handed vs dual wield

whats the point of 2 handed swords if u can do more hits and quicker with 2 wield and have two swords doing like 22 each or the big one doing 25?

Agreed, longswords are sh#t, literally worstest weapon acrhetype
Speer for example have much more fastest and usefull movesets against the crowd and solo target. besides auto parry skill very usefull against bosses

Sure 2hand could use some tuning, but I like big swords and the meatiness of it. Best wishes 60h 2 hand enjoyer. Lets hope it gets adjustments! (or if there is something that changes it later on the game)

Spear has reach, two handed swings wide, dual swings faster. Pick your poison. Just remember that there's a skill you can unlock that does an attack to switch between spear/two-handed and your sword and board or dual blades.

You can have both.

i think longswords need damage boost, my longsword has barely any extra damage from the one handed one lol

2 Handed Weapons Can block? I don't know if using 2 weapons for each hand allows that? I just rock sword and shield! Only way to go t o be honest.

I'm main 2H player since the beginning of the game and I'm absolutely crushing both mobs and bosses. I think it really depends how you build your weapon (which skills) and if they complement your playstyle. I know which combos work for me best, so I add skills that are complimentary to that, so it works well. There was only one boss that I had issues with (Antumbra's Sword), but back then I didn't really know what I was doing.

So just to sum up, every weapon in this game can be really good if you creaft it well and know how to utilize it :)

agreed. Pearl Abyss would be better off taking a closer look at souls-likes and Monster Hunter.

But for example, i have wolf fang vs vessel of dark pursuit, vessel has like 5 more attack on same level, it just feels like not worth the extra damage vs dual wield where u have much quicker attacks for not much less damage

Well, that may be true. I need to craft some good two 1H swords and test it. I was thinking of either playing 2H or two 1H anyway, so regardless of the outcome I will still have a blast :D two 1H swords give me 1 more core slot for a skill, so more explosions on the screen lol

I use the Tauria Curved Sword & Survivors Solitude. I have attack 3 and crit rate 3 on both. Tauria has a crow pursuit special attack and I took the special attack off of the 2 handed sword Dark Bringer and put it on Solitude. There's birds and lightning orbs flying everywhere.

what you do have is the extra abyss sockets on the 2h. ..so i can have ators and crows both procing from heavy attack and still 4 more slots to put other things on

It’s rare, but I actually prefer fighting with the shield, which has really badass animations

Does dual wielding actually give you the attack damage of both weapons? I feel like they hit super fast, but if I switch to a one handed weapon and shield, I seem to kill enemies just as quickly.

dual wield has 6 slots in total tho.
they wont share damage stats between them but skills fe will be shared so you could run 6 instead of 5

i think after playing some more, 2Handed is good for bigger enemies that u can do hit and run, while 2 weapons are good for packs of mobs as it has better moving between enemies and more AOE hits, I am not sure how damage and def is calculated in the game
