Disturbance at the Arena

I'm stuck at the fist fight arena. It tells me to talk to the host but the host does not talk to me and a icon pops up saying I need to be unarmed. The game does not let you remove weapons from your hands in the inventory. Anyone find a solution to this? It is a main story line quest and now I cant progress any further.

Figured it out. Under secondary were pickaxe, mallet ext. is at switch to fist there.

Thanks for posting the solution. I've been trying to remove my weapons for ternth minutes and missed the gloves when I scanned that slot

Switching to the gloves should work but remember you need to use your unarmed combat key if you click either mouse button (or what ever on the controller) it will revert to your weapon attack and disqualify you. Also careful that you don't go into a kick that also doesn't count. Wish they would improve this to just block the weapons and let us use our normal attacks for punching.

Just select the fists/gloves with F2, it's where you have the tools.

This game is so obtuse in mechanics it doesn't need to be. Literally every other game out there just forces A, B, or C style of combat during a quest.

It should lock out weapons, so you cann't take a weapon you have equiped out

As soon as you leave the arena is disables the lock out

Because its an arena you use your fists, its correct to lock out weapons equiped. you should not have to make a mistake taking out a weapon because doing it once disqualtifys you. alot of arenas do not let you take a weapon into the arena.
