Im looking to put multiple abyss skill gears on my darkbringer 2h sword so when i heavy attack ive got like 4 or 5 gears triggering a special attack.

Is this possible and whats good? Do i need the swift or critical abyss gears on it?

depends on if you want to focus on finishers, RT, RT + RB attacks, or one of the other button combos. There are three gears that give your RT a ranged attack, 2 or 3 that give your RT + RB more power, and a bunch that effect other button combos. The +3 to attack speed, +3 to crit, +3 to attack damage, and 'consecutive attacks do more damage' are also nice.
Dual wielding and I'm lazy, so 5 of the 6 tirgger automatically on R1 or R2.
Crescent moons, crows, the yellow orb thingies, the wave from the first boss, forgot the last one.
All I think add range to Klifford's attacks.
The only one I have to do "something extra" for is R1+B for the giant ghost warrior.

EDIT: Fullmoon Slash - Crescent Moon Slash - Wind Slash - Ator's Orb - Crow's Persuit - Spirit's Judgment
EDIT 2: I have all my Stamina / Spirit / ATK (spd) gears on armor, gloves, boots, headgear.
ive got crows pursuit, shadow claw, and ators orb all on 1h sword and its doing good
stamina siphon
How much of a difference does swift I gear make? I want to replace it for damage
none of the level 1 gears are likely to make a huge difference

If you didn't, search out the Witches and buy the relevant recipes.
This allows you to combine gears from level 1 to level 3.
Rip out all the lvl 1 gears of the equipment you find and don't use and you should have lots of level 3's.
It's been tested by some prominent youtube statisticians already. a lot of the 'effect' abyss gears aren't that great going into late game because their damage is flat, meaning no amount of scaling your damage stat will change the damage (outside of % beast/humanoid etc. damage). I'm certain you can beat anything in the game with them, but so far its been recommended just 1 or 2 for the main attack you use. for rmb the claws are high value for stagger and aoe, but rmb lacks great damage options. definitely get the 'damage increases with consecutive attack' though. if you have more than 1 put them in ARMOR as it doesn't stack up to 3 if any are on the weapon for some reason.
note that fancy special attacks increase the cost (e.g. stamina), while often being mediocre damage-wise. some youtuber tested a lot of them, and only a couple are decent (crow pursuit, volcanic eruption), while the majority just bait you into wasting stamina. as for core non-gimmick gears, i think attack speed gives most bang for the buck.
all wrong answers here, insight and destruction abyss gears are the most important, the rest cherry on top
I've watched several videos where they test out all of these Abyss gears while using the helmet that shows mob health. The conclusions are basically as follows: 1) get Crit Rate as close to 15 as possible and Attack speed to 10. No matter what equipment you are using, you'll need to use an Insight 3 in your 2-H weapon, and that's with everything enhanced to rank 10.

2) Crow's Pursuit does good damage and stun and gives some range to melee attacks (and they track targets automatically). Ground Surge is without question the highest-damage gear, it has knockback, some AOE, and can set animals on fire, which essentially stuns them while they roll around - it is a must-have (combine it with Volcanic Eruption and Flames of Judgment on your chest armor and it becomes an AOE nuke). The Momentum Gear (+35% Turning Slash damage) is a must-have in your helm. Greysoul Howling essentially doubles most of your attacks and is a must-have. Make sure you are using at least 1 Relentless gear (mine is in my gloves, but if you use more than one, it has to be in a different piece of gear and don't waste a weapon gear slot for it). Hound's Claws is also high-damage.

3) Cool-looking effects like Wound of Darkness, Ator's Orb and Abyssal Rays actually do low damage/stun and are NOT worth using. None of the other elements do as much damage as fire (unless you are fighting a tough boss that is immune/strong against fire, but I never bother to switch out gear for a specific fight). Spirit's Judgment looks very cool and does a pretty large AOE knockback and has good stun, and I used it for a while. But the others I mentioned are better.

I'm running with a 2H sword with 1 Insight 3, Greysoul Howling, Crow's Pursuit, Ground Surge, and Hound's Claws - that's 2 that trigger on R2 attacks and 2 from Turning Slash. That gives a balance between attacks that use stamina and focus. Volcanic Eruption, Flames of Judgment and Damage Reduction 3 on my chest. Relentless and Attack Speed 3 on my gloves. Movement Speed 3 and the food buff +3 on boots. Momentum on Helm. This melts everything. I can even basically stun-lock some bosses and kill them before they can do anything more than their initial "better dodge immediately or die" attacks.

These gears plus my rings/neck/earrings combine to give me Crit Rate 10 or 12 (can't remember), Attack Speed 11, and Movement Speed 11. An elementally-charged Turning Slash with this setup can kill a whole group of mobs, including some Elites. I've taken down some bosses in under 20 seconds with no damage. Bear in mind that all of my gear has been enhanced to Rank 10, so obviously your results will be less dramatic at lower levels.
Put attack speed in gloves and boots. The other damage stats only affect your unarned attacks/Kicks if you slot them whereas attack speed on thise 2 slots also affects your weapon attacks.

Whether you go for bonus damage or crit or fancy moves on the weapon(s) is really just personal preference. Stats are probably better, but special moves look cool and make the game more fun, so they're a perfectly reasonable choice
