How to actually get mods to work?

I have watched every video, and gone through all of the tutorials. Never have I had such an issue with modding as I do with this game.
I have yet to successfully get a single mod to work.

Is there some secret to modding this game that I have not had the luck of being revealed yet? Why are there so many mod managers for this game and why do none of them work?

Please someone enlighten me. I have tried so many times.

All I did was download Definitive mod manager (DMM) from nexus. Path your game like you would modding any game then I downloaded the files and just drag n drop the .zips into DMM. Few mods do say you have to drop stuff into the bin64 file but majority is just drag n drop into the program.

After you add them all to DMM you enable and mount the mods then start.

I use CDUMM as my mod manager. Simple to use. Never had a problem with any mod I've installed. Been modding the game since day 1.
