Game is frozen in windowed mode

[Half Life: Opposing Force]

After I switched from full-screen to windowed mode the game has completely froze, displaying a white screen that I can't interact with and playing the menu music in the background. It goes to this white screen whenever I open the game now rendering it unplayable. No matter what I do I can't seem to revert or change it.

I found the solution in another post, I will copy/paste the answer with some differences:
1. Browse local files/Steamapps/Common/Insaniquarium Deluxe
2. Right-click properties on Insaniquarium
3. Go to compatibility
4. Enable Run this program in compatibility mode for : [Windows 8]
Also for resolution errors [Full-Screen] Run in 640x480 Screen Resolution
