When your desktop is set to a higher or lower DPI some older games can cause issues with screensize and only show the top left of the screen.
I have this issue with a lot of older games (like The Sims 1) but every time when I can see only the top left part of the screen the following steps fixed it every time (including Insaniquarium)
The fix:
- Right click on the game and go to properties
- Go to the tab "Local files" and select "Browse local files"
- Find the executable (.exe), for Insaniquarium there are two: Insaniquarium.exe and InsaniquariumDeluxe.exe, to be sure execute the following steps on both files.
- Right click on the executable and go to properties
- On the tab "Compatibility" check the option "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings"
- You're done! Have fun with your game :)
Not sure if this option is available on all Windows versions, but I'm guessing it should be there on Windows 7 and higher.
Update to this to match new file properties formatting:
- Once again, do this for both Insaniquarium.exe and InsaniquariumDeluxe.exe
- Right click > Properties
- Compatibility tab
- Change high DPI settings
- Check the box that says High DPI scaling override: Override high DPI scaling behavior. Scaling performed by:
- Make sure the drop down box below it says "Application"
- Make sure you hit OK on all properties windows to apply the changes
