Windows 10 fullscreen step by step guide.

I've noticed many people having issues here and I put together this step by step guide to help you all. I can only confirm this works on Widnows 10 on 4 different setups that I have but please let me know If it works on 7,8,8.1 as well. Sorry if this is long winded but I wanted to be as clear as I could.

Edit:Backup your save before trying this, a user lost his save data I'm not sure how but just in case.

Step 1. Go into the install location (\Steam\steamapps\common\Insaniquarium Deluxe)

Step 2. Rightclick the "insaniquarium delux.exe" and select "Properties".

Step 3. Go to compatability tab and select the checkbox "run this program in compatability
mode."

Step 4. Select "Windows XP (service pack 2)" from the dropdown box.

Step 5. Below "Settings" click the checkbox for "Override high DPI scaling behavior. Scaling performed by."

Step 6. Select "Application" from the drop down box.

Step 7. Next select "Disable fullscreen optimization"

Step 8. Select Apply then close.

Step 9. Rightclick "WinFish_Scr.exe" and select "Properties"

Step 10. Repeat steps 3-8 for this .exe (This is the screensaver).

Step 11. Go back to the base steam folder "\Steam" and copy "Steam.dll"

Step 12. Paste "Steam.dll" in the Insaniquarium install location "\Steam\steamapps\common\Insaniquarium Deluxe" With the .exe's you edited.

Step 13. Rightclick "Insaniquarium Delux.exe" Select "send to>" and pick "Desktop" (Create shortcut)"

Step 14. Play with the Shortcut on the desktop.

Step 15. Go to "Options" and turn on "Fullscreen." and turn off "Custom cursors" confirm with "OK"

(OPTIONAL)
Step 16. If you are still having an issue, while in game go to "Options"

Step 17. Ether turn on or off "hardware acceleration" and confirm with "OK"

Step 18. Enjoy! [strike\]

THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH!!! it works but theres still one problem the .exe file doesnt permanently save the steam.dll file so i have to manually copy and paste it into the .exe file once i do this it instantly starts running the game and it runs corectly. i also don have the "application" in the drop down box. i also noticed u have 2 more tabs than me for properties i only have the details, security, general, and compatability are the other two tabs necessry for game function?

I dont think so, I have windows perfessional I assume you have home it limits windows features. Make sure you are launching with the exe in the folder not through steam itself.

thanks again for the help. I am using the .exe i just dont have the application tab when i am looking at the properties. this isnt a serious problem tho so dont feel the need to solve it if u dont want to

For some reason some .exe won't show the Compatibility tab in some versions of windows. The way around this is to run the troubleshooter in the right click menu of the .exe and choose your compatibility modes that way. if that doesn't work im sorry i don't know. It's hard to troubleshoot without the computer infront of me.

Hey, any idea how to do this fix but with a very old cd that starts the game with a exe called "PopCDRun"? I'm having the same issue, but none of the locations to adjust are listed.

Whoop, nevermind I found it somewhere unexpected? It was just in a completely different file, which is, odd.

Well I put in as much of the instructions as I could, but it didn't make it better. It isn't the steam version, so, that's alright, I'll make do.

@Bee try running the game in windows 98 compatability if your computer will allow it. The CD is a much older version.

I'm running the CD as well, but found that trying the solution given throws a fatal error which states to reinstall from original CD, which I tried again, but it keeps throwing that error every time. Anyone know what I should do?

Sorry unless I have a copy of the CD I wouldn't be able to troubleshoot for you, make sure you have open gl installed see if that helps.
