Does it work on windows 8.1?

How do i install the patch for win8/8.1. I dubble klick the installer but it says:
SDBInst.exe must be run with elevated privledges 'sdbinst.exe' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or bath file.

Hey Texas.

The patch should be automaticly applied if you are talking about the steam version, if you believe it has not, you right click on the game in steam then Properties then Local Files and then Verify Integrity off game cache.

This forces the game to check all files if they match the newest version.

I'm running the game without problem on Win 10 Pro x64, so it should work on earlier versions of windows too. But there was some problems in the beginning before i got the correct drivers and updates.

It's been years now since I bought this game on Win 8.1 and I still have the same issues, like scrolling trough the airport is too slow to actually enjoy playing it. Can you guide me to making it work 100%?
