Report a translation problem
data:
- city.csv contains city names among other things. If you translate them, you need to hexedit the executable so the names match, otherwise the game will crash at the start of New York, Rio, Tokio mission.
- names.csv contains words to type every 30 days, but also bunch of names and surnames for crew members once it runs out of them from...
- piloten.csv are all the crew members with descriptions
- routen.csv contains routes between such, names must match city.csv
- stdpaper.csv contains everything you can read in kiosk
gli:
- briefing.gli has textures for the screen that's shown at the start of a day, before you meet Uhrig
- buykero.gli is a form to buy fuel, there's a word "Signature" there that can be translated
- form.gli is like above, but for stocks
- gameover.gli is the "Game over" screen
- glbasis.gli is, among other things, the WAIT cursor
- glbrick0-3.gli contains all the airport elements for each season, including what's written on workshop at the every right
- kredit.gli is like buykero.gli, but for bank credit (shocking)
misc:
- bank*.mcf is a Times-looking font seen on some forms
- dlg_ger.res is a text file for all the dialogs, you can copy it directly from Evolution and it'll work.
- dlgfont*.mcf are fonts using during dialogs
- ein_ger.res is a text file for units, like currency, but not only
- norm_*.mcf are fonts used for example in Filofax
- status.mcf is a clock font
- std_ger.res is a text file for all the text that isn't dialog, Deluxe added at least a line (security office can be closed because of power outage) and you need to add these lines so the game doesn't crush.
room:
- dutyfree.gli has "SOLD OUT" on a laptop if it's out of stock
- kiosk.gli has newspaper titles
- klacker.gli is a font menu, among other things
sound folder contains airport announcer.
voice is self-explanatory, on Windows you have a text file there showing what's inside. Files are 22,050 Hz 16-bit little endian raw sounds.
All text and CSV files can be encrypted, you can reverse it with https://github.com/openairlinetycoon/OpenATDeluxe/blob/godot-master/xtRLE.py and never encrypt it again.
It's a shame I couldn't find any information about the team responsible for the translation.
Unfortunately, this version crashes in some key parts of the game, making it impossible to progress. One example is when you buy out (liquidating all assets) a competitor's company. The game crashes as soon as you start the meeting with Uhrig the day after.
Maybe it's fixable by merging the relevant audio/text files in the PT-BR version with the files in the fully working Steam version, observing the warning notes on Lili's (great) post above. I'll give it a try soon.
Just send me a message if you (or anyone else reading this) is interested and I can send the disc image or at least dump the the .raw voice files somewhere.
