Game won't launch?

I downloaded this game and installed it, but when I went to play it a window popped up saying preparing to launch game like all games do on steam. Except the window would open, close, open close, ect and nothing has happened. Does anyone know why or how I could fix it?

Hey, sorry for bumping an old topic but I'm having the same issue and disabling windows defender and firewall didn't help, and I'm pretty sure I have none of the listed programs running. What gives? I had promised my friends we'd try this tomorrow :/ (The game has worked before so I really didn't think I'd have problems with it).

I was, but I got it working. Completely forgot how but I know it wasn't a firewall/conflicting program issue and I know it wasn't verifying integrity or disabling in-game overlay or running in compatibility mode or restarting the PC. But hey, it's working now so who cares! :) Sorry for bothering you but thank you for your continuing support <3

Hey! I just recently bought the Jackbox Party Pack 3 to play with friends. However, when I attempted to launch the game, my anti-virus detected the .exe file as a Heuristic Virus. I see that previous solutions involve disabling said anti-virus, but I'm concerned about doing so if in fact the newly installed file is producing viruses. I've included a report from my anti-virus below:
