Only one person out of friends needs to buy the game?

So since people can join through their browsers by knowing the room name, if I have a group of friends that all want to play, does only one of us need to buy it then or does everyone need the game to join rooms?

Yes, only the person hosting the game room needs the game! Since everyone else uses their phones to join rather than steam, there's no need for them to have the game.

Also by the way, incase you didn't know, make sure you're streaming video footage of the game through skype, twitch, or steam broadcasting. otherwise they'll have no idea what's going on.
