Carmageddon TDR 2000

Carmageddon TDR 2000

Won't launch on Windows 8.1
Tried the game out, the game tries to launch but wont. I get the 'TDR 2000' Spash screen, then a few seconds of the windows loading cursor. Tried high res mode, running setup, and the standard exe. Tried launching as admin, and compatability mode for Windows 7. No go.

The e-mail they sent about the games release said they got the game running properly.

Windows 8.1
Core i7 4700MQ
Geforse GTX 770
12 GB RAM
latest drivers installed

Windows 8 doesn't support DirectX 7 which the game uses. Your only option is to go to the TDR2000 Setup and select Software Renderer with 640x480 resolution. It looks terrible... but it works.

I can run the game on windows 8.1 64 bit without using compatibility mode. The first time the game launched I chosed Hi-Res mode and I could continue to the main menu and play. I could choose my graphic card and also my resolution. Are you using codec packages? If so try to uninstall that package. Can you please upload or paste the content of the dbg file which is located in the following directory: Steamlibrary,SteamApps, common,Carmageddon TDR 2000.

Try disabling DEP for the game executable for instructions see here[www.thewindowsclub.com] navigate to the installation directory of the game : SteamLibrary,Steamapps, common, Carmageddon 2000 TDR and select TDR2000.

I know i tested in my mom computer that has windows 7 and works like a charm but in windows 8 or 8.1 even with the compatibility mode its dont work that means that the problem is not the DirectX like everyone think...
