[Solved] Mobile game port ... or stolen game?
I thought this game looked familiar. Turns out it's almost an exact clone of The Mansion: A Puzzle of Rooms[play.google.com] which is a free-with-micropayments Android app from a Korean developer that churns out apps like there's no tomorrow.

I don't even know if either Handmade Games (Steam version) or Com2Us (Android version) is violating international copyright law by cloning this game.

I'd like to know if this game was stolen from Com2Us.

Handmade Games is the original creator of the Rooms series. The first game in the series is Rooms: The Mansion which was available on PC and DS for years prior to coming out on Steam last year.

I hadn't heard of this mobile version before so I did some digging. This interview[paulsemel.com] clears things up.

Thanks for answering @Hong Dog.
@amphetamachine
Yes, although I talked briefly in the interview, the detail I can't write here was uglier. HandMade Game is the original creator of all Rooms game. We partnered with Kuno Interactive to make Rooms2. Then, Com2Us published it on mobile and forced us to make it F2P pay-to-win game. The game failed miserably, but even now they refuse to bring down the game from store, which make pennies for them.

We got the right to the game back, and improved the game in many aspect for Steam- 44 more levels, 4 new mechanics, no IAP, complete storyline, controller support, ... etc.

Thanks.

Incredible answer, and something I never would have guessed from what I was able to see (two games with different titles by two different publishers listed on two different platforms for diffferent prices). Thank you for your insider's perspective.

/aside: f**k Com2Us.
