Epic Weapon Achievement Broken?

According to some of the guides I've read, a red weapon is epic.
I've found one, but have not received the achievement. I've heard this has happened to others too, is it bugged?

I got the achievement with a light blue staff weapon afew days ago, So it is abit buggy. Im on v1.95 mac

I got the achievement few minutes ago, just drop your epic weapon and equip again, the achievement will popup.

and i never had the red one but still got an achievement.

I got a red weapon, picked it up, didn't get the achievement. Dropped it, picked it back up, nothing-- actually did that a bunch of times, but nothing happened. It's actually the only achievement I'm missing : /

I got an epic, beat the game, died, picked up a random blue weapon, got the achievement. It's bugged. Keep trying, you'll get it.

Same heare, i trow my orange sword for my red axe, and nothing, now i have a SkyblueGhostSword, nothing happend

I got it off a lvl. 10 hammer. Thought that was strange

Did two playthroughs back to back. It turns out you need to have a PURPLE SWORD! No other purple, red, light blue, green, etc worked. Also it was a One-Handed Sword not a G.Sword. Hope this helps everyone get their achievements done!
