The Sims™ 2 Legacy Collection

FIX THE MODULAR STAIRS PLEASE DAMMIT
I swear to god, of all the stupid bugs this half-baked attempt at a re-release could introduce that has not been fixed, the modular stairs being bugged like crazy on a game reload is just the worst.

I scrapped a lot, rebuilt it from the ground up hoping this stupid issue, moved in a sim family, only to find it come back after reloading the game later.

This issue just breaks my homes, basements useless, homes built on foundation inadvisable, all because something about modular stairs is so jacked up that you can't even delete them properly to place them back down, you have to force an error on EACH AND EVERY SINGLE FRIGGEN STEP AND EVEN THIS DOESN'T FULLY FIX THE ISSUE CAUSE IT JUST COMES BACK.

How the hell does this publisher slam dunk the Command & Conquer remaster, going above and beyond in attempting to find (and unfortunately failing) to get their hands on source footage of the live action sequences, but utterly fails at treating this game with any damn care?

It would have been better for them to sell us a stripped down version of the UC edition. At least people have spent eleven years working on and gussying that up. Instead we have this release that is advertised on a red carpet with all the fanfare and celebration it should have, and when we get to the party it's a disaster the likes of which makes a scam from Ed, Edd, and Eddy look trustworthy.

Yeah, this problem's still in the game AFAIK. However, I may've found a cause and workaround. If I might ask, are you using sets of modular stairs placed next to one another? Because I have found that spacing them out does work as a method around the bug until it is fixed

Gosh I am, but it's so weird, like I have one home where I have them in sets on a home, but they are the only set. Then I have a much larger home where there's at least two sets, one to the back yard and entrance, and then set of modular stair cases going up stairs and one going down to the basement level.

I'll take a look and build a test home from the ground up to test something real quick and report back.

Nah, that didn't do jack. Have modular stair spaced out by multiple tiles and they just screw up, sims aren't able to path up or down.

The only solution I am seeming to find is to use the modular stairs sparingly in favor of the pre-fab stair cases where possible. Which is annoying because as I recall you can't have two sims going up and down the prefabs

Some example homes I am just having this issue with

Modular stairs breaking pathfinding is the worst bug I've encountered by far, I agree.
