CAS failing

Each time I attempt to make a new character, CAS crashes. I can't even click on the icon for adding a sim, music just plays and there's a plain background.
ETA: I tried changing the window settings and they're grayed out. I cant change them.

Same. I started playing again three days ago. Everything worked, till today. It could be the patch. Good thing: Game is stable in every other aspect/feature I use so far.

I've been having a similar problem. Tried loading up my game to create a new family. Once loaded into CAS it acts as if it is running even shows the words 'create new sim' when I hover over it at first, before just ignoring my mouse inputs.
I tried validating my game files each time after closing the game and every time steam has to fix 3 files. I'm assuming a new patch has broken something or other.
Everything else seems to run smoothly and I'm able to still edit preexisting households/sims(so far). Hopefully cause its so fundamental it'll be fixer sooner rather than later but idk not holding my breath tbh.

Well that sucks. I don't have any previous households and I don't want to use a prefabed one. x(
