BUG : keyboard inputs don't work

I'm stuck at the "create a family", the game doesn't react to my keystrokes anywhere.

also not working for me - how can the game be played like this? I had twins and the name dialog did not pop up and i was going to add a name with boolprop but now i am stuck with baby boy and baby girl

I'm sorry to read of this issue. I'm not struggling with the same issues as so many, and that sucks in some ways. It's a problem making games work for everyone because everyone has different hardware and combinations of hardware. Some might be playing on Windows 10 and others on Windows 11, or even Mac (which I know nothing about). There are so many variables.

I'm glad they've made the game available to be played easier on new machines, but it looks like it's going to take a bit of time to iron out the kinks caused by updating the rendering engine, and a few other changes.

There will always be those old bugs from "back in the day," though. It's foolish to think EA will work on old bugs because they got their newest hot mess to fix up and milk people of their money with. But there are a lot of great mods and tools to help deal with those. Once EA fixes the newly introduced issues, players will be helping players here to help one another get the most fun out of their gaming as possible.

I pressed alt tab and it seemed to make the keys working

I have this issue too, the sim has a baby and i can't add a name. Also it makes a sound every damn time i press a button.

I also have this issue, it's very annoying. I have a neighbour stuck on the lot as well as a disgusting frying pan filled with flies that I can't delete because I'm not able to type the cheat codes
