The Sims™ 2 Legacy Collection

The Sims™ 2 Legacy Collection

This game is still so beyond broken
Looking into why my game is broken has become an entire rabbit hole. This game is corrupted and it sold anyway, i'm pretty sure false advertising is illegal.

lol bot. Its a known fact they didnt work in a decent port to newer systems. The game would have instant loading screens on today's computers, but still takes forever. also crashes. also bugs.

Yes, it has issues, but not everyone is having them. Depends on the PC and seems to be more common with AMD gpus from what I have seen.

lol "bot". Dont be so quick to assume. The release is far from perfect, but many, including myself, can run the game pretty well. It has it's bugs and flaws and they are being addressed faster than i dared to hope they would be.

It is gravely unfortunate some people are having issues launching the game and having crashes and what not. But plenty of others are either running the game fine or "mostly fine."
As the guy above me mentions certain hardware is having trouble for some obscure probably unforeseen reasons.

Also first guy (JDumbz) was rude tho. Although i am definitely running the game fine so far, I have no desire for arrogant and rude attitudes.

Depends on your PC, Sims 2 has always had issues with amd processors so its no surprise to see this version struggle as well. It is also missing bodyshop which is the biggest sin so far. I think it's better to wait for a few months before buying the steam version since the UC works fine.

The game is not broken at all - runs flawlessly on my system.

Bodyshop and also modular stairs are bugged, been playing since OG Sims 2 dropped on disk back when dinosaurs roamed and my sims standing around yelling they can't walk up a 1 tile stair onto my foundation was some "war has changed" stuff. (This is inconsistent for me but it's been happening on some lots and also some other stair related bugs like them refusing to be deleted.)

I bought the game a few days ago, and it runs well, without crashes or mayor bugs. Not sure if there's a certain hardware configuration that bricks the game or something... My Win11 computer runs the game just fine.

I haven't tested adding mods. So far, I'm playing the vanilla version.
I have an AMD GPU and in a total playtime of 1-2 hours I managed to get the Family Deletion/Replaced with Random NPCs glitch, probably because I quit without saving from a lot, because the foundation stairs I had put in wouldn't delete for love nor money.

Suffice to say I'll be giving this one a minute and hoping some robust fixes come in!

Well, that's odd... I'm using a AMD Ryzen 9 and NVIDIA Geforce series 40 and I haven't experimented anything you described. There doesn't seem to be a connection between the computer specifications and the bugs as far as I know...

not everyone who disagrees with you is a bot or paid. i got a 5600x and a 7800xt and never had any crashes only had couple small bugs have happened like mr humble dropping off a computer every few hours.

Maybe I am lucky but I never had any issue (rtx 3050 laptop, intel UHD, rtx 4090, rtx 3080) since day one (ea app version but I guess they are the same) on both TS1 and TS2
I have like 19 hours and haven't crashed once. Runs smoothly on my pc too. Apparently the crashing and sims not eating bugs have been fixed a few days ago, which was before I purchased this game. I can't speak for everyone though, but I haven't had any of these problems on my own game.

I have had no major issues other than once. One of my dogs starved because my family were living in an apartment and the dog was too stupid to just climb some stairs to get to the apartment. When animal protective services stole my dog, I left the game without saving to revert my save, but when I did my dog was corrupted. It was invisible and couldn't fill any of its needs. It couldn't even die. I think every time it was supposed to die, it'd cause an error every second or so. Ruined one of my runs. Other than that though it's all been running smoothly for me.
