Sims 2 save recovery steam deck

If there's anybody that could help let me know please I uninstalled and reinstalled the game on my steam deck because it was crashing and when I booted up the game all my progress was gone did uninstalling it deleted the save or do I have to dig through files to recover it?

The uninstall did delete your saves

Yeah, you have to watch uninstalling some games on the steam deck that don’t have steam cloud support as for some games, the steam deck stores the save files in the compatdata directory so it’s a good idea to go into that directory. Find your saves and copy them to a back up location before uninstalling the game the directory can be found at. Home/local/share/steam/steamapps/compatdata/3314070/ea games/ make sure hidden files is turned on somewhere inside the EA games folder will be your save files I recommend just copying the whole folder, but if you know how to locate the exact files you’re looking for then I would just copy them. Don’t worry, I’ve made the same mistake a couple of times since I bought my steam deck

Thnx for the info hopefully there'll be an update at some point to add cloud saves to Sims 2
