Custom Paintings not working for me

I can't seem to get the custom painting feature to work. Even the default images that were already in the folder don't allow me to paint them on the easel as the game says that the image is too large to load. However, all of the default images and the ones I tried to add are under the recommended size. Anyone have any ideas? Could well be me doing something wrong idk lol.

Custom painting doesn't work for me as well. I also have no idea if i am doing anything wrong but for whatever reason i could paint default images even after deleting them but i cannot add new, but it looks like no one is mentioning this problem so maybe we are doing something wrong.
