Game minimizing itself then black screen

The game keeps minimizing itself about every 5 seconds, and I need to keep opening it, and it eventually crashes on a black screen and all that I can do is push the power button on my PC to restart (pressing alt + tab or ctrl + alt + delete does nothing).

I have tried some of the fixes on the posts but nothing has worked so far.

does anyone have any ideas before I refund the game? it's basically unplayable. I really wanted to enjoy the nostalgia trip of playing these games from my childhood and it's sad so many people are having problems!

So far, I found out you go into settings of the game (gear icon), then properties, then under launch options type "-w" (without the quotes). Should launch flawlessly however, this is considered windowed mode. Still trying to figure out Non-windowed..

Ok.. so I also found another launch option "-w -f" for full screen.. but you can still see that annoying tab at the top.. 🙄.. it's great that this game works, but this little line at the very top is annoying AF

hi. i am a bit concern with the crash that you mentioned. .. i agree with the poster about a trip down memory lane but i rather a trip with the game and not a trip with the blue screen of death.. i only have one computer with no problems and i rather have it stay that way. there is only a short window for refunds.. is this game likely unplayable in the future?

thank you, that worked! agreed the line is annoying, but at least its playable. I hope they fix the issues.
