Deleted plesantview

its been almost a decade since i played this game and forgot the ins and outs, i tough that by pressing the trashcan icon it would reset the town but instead it got deleted. now plesant view is gone and even reinstalling is not working, can anyone help?

Go to Documents - Ea games and delete The Sims 2 Legacy folder (the game will create this folder again next time you open the game). Open the game and see if the pleasantview is back.

Remember, your save will be deleted.

Navigate to the root folder of the game (by default it's C:\Program Files\EA Games\The Sims 2 Legacy). Go to The Sims 2 folder (Base) -> TSData -> Res -> UserData -> Neighborhoods.

Copy the neighborhood folder — for Pleasantview it's N001 — and paste it into the Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2 Legacy\Neighborhoods folder

I remember the original version having a bug that'd break the game after reinstalling, as the uninstallation was leaving some files in that folder which resulted in the game not rebuilding it and as a result not working due to lack of data. Of course the solution was to manually rebuild it, but non-technical persons wouldn't figure that out.

The rumour was that the game was so heavily protected against piracy that the disc allowed only one install, and it was impossible to even reinstall after uninstalling.
