Game stuck at loading screen when I was returning to Takemizu Village Resort on vacation, and the family is basically unplayable. It's broken unfortunately.

Same, got stuck on loading screen. Closed the game via task-manager. As I loaded back in the world my household was gone but their house was still there. It seems to me the game has still some serious issues.

Made a family and moved them onto an empty lot. Still nothing

Anything else i should try to break the game?

Other than sim voice audio being scuffed the only thing i have run into so far (havent played extensively yet) are pets becoming invisible... might just play without them lol.

I haven't had any issues either so far. I'm playing an uberhood made by Meetmetotherivers clean neighborhood templates and The Hood Building group on Mod The Sims, so idk if that's why or if it just hasn't happened yet.
After 2 hours for me, and impossible to play again

It worked fine for the first few hours, but then it crashed to the desktop all the time. I can't even refund.
I have seen that to fix the constant crashing, someone said that you need to to put the "Shadows" settings to medium. If the shadows are already there or below, then I don't know what else could be causing it.
Game worked fine for me for a few hours, now every time i play it, it crashes.
its a game from 2004. People do no research on the game and think it will be flawless. Many neighborhoods get corrupted over time without mods and 3rd party tools. Because it was made poorly in 2004. Just google.

This is wrong. One of my friends played this game with obsession in vanilla state for over 2 years and her save never got corrupt but she had tons of back-ups and managed her sim population like crazy.

I really recommend watching this video if you worry about corruption.

Lucky one ²

Just because your friend didn't get shot doesn't mean violence doesn't exist, you know.
being a denialist is practically calling those who had problems a liar, everyone loves the game, no one wants to see it in a bad state...

there are HUNDREDS of complaints with sims disappearing, among others, it is not a debatable fact, and I'm glad your friend didn't have to go through that.

I don’t say that there is no issue but it is not so bad as people think and yes, this re-release has some serious issue, just go and look at EA official Sims 2 forum and report the bug there. If they handle bug reports the same way as with Sims 4 then they will not read this discussion board. So report it in the right place.
