It's not like you can't plug in multiple controllers or something.
the pc versions (the og ones) never had coop implemented or even planned as far as i know. the only one that was multiplayer was the sims online but that doesnt exist anymore.
If yes, then my point still stands.
Of course nothing that can really be done about it now, but doesn't change how I feel like its a silly thing to be excluding.
the console version is a completely different game from the pc version, why would they include something that was never meant to be there in the first place?
edit: a lot of people confuse the console games and the pc games, the pc versions are the original games with the original gameplay style where you pretty much play god, the console editions are completely different for each console.
the ps2 sims 2 isnt the same as the psp or ds sims 2, these games are more story based...
these editions are pretty much the same old pc versions with only a little patch (that doesnt even work properly) for newer systems, nothing new was added and they never announced new stuff either, they claimed since the start that this is pretty much a re-release, not a remaster or a remake.
Now that makes me wonder why they made two completely different games, instead of one game and porting it to different platforms with all the same features included across all platforms. That's, kinda what I expect from a game.
idk to be honest, there are various versions of the sims 2 for plenty of consoles and each one is different from the other.
why ea did this? i guess it was made like that to make it easier to play with a joystick or the psp/ds buttons.
i think theres also a gba version around
Now I have to go and look what's different about console and PC version of Sims 2, since I only know the console version from way back.
Because porting video games wasn't as simple back then as it is now that consoles all share similar architectures, hardware manufacturers, and functionalities. Porting back then imposed limitations that had to be circumvented to the point where "ports" were outright new games in some cases, with functionalities exclusive to them.
The clearest example of that is PS2's Sims 2 Pets, which is a standalone expansion because the PS2 had no proper hard drive support (like the XBOX and PC) so there was no real way to implement a content expansion pack system like the one Sims 2 on PC had.
