Crashes on start up

ive not even loaded in fully its on my desktop with a small zoomed in screen

having the same issue right now. ive been able to play all day then now its crashing

Same. Can't get the game to start, sitcks at The Sims 2 screen.

Here is the solution that worked for me.

1. Find your game in the Downloads section of Steam.
2. Right click, go to Manage, and then click on Browse local files
3. Go to the EP9 folder
4. Click on TSBin.
5. Right click on Sims2EP9 and select Properties.
6. In the Compatibility tab select the following.
Compatibility mode: Windows 7
and check mark the box above the drop-down menu
Settings:
Run in 640x480 screen optimization
Disable fullscreen optimization
Run this program as an administrator
7. Click apply
8. Now run Sims2EP9
