I once got a bag of milk for free 10 years ago. Can't believe I still need to pay for my milk today.

Why should they be charging 30 dollars for a decade old re-release that was already given away for free? Absolutely braindead

A very fair and absolutely not idiotic comparison!

The Origin version drove me mad. If people are right and this one doesn't use launch the EA App to play then it's already an improvement. Every time I used my own version of TS2 (I have all the discs but disabled the disc drive requirement due to modern pc) it would immediately link to Origin which took over the game and messed with settings and files randomly.

I'm not even mad about the pricing, I'm mad about them re-releasing this with barely any improvements and actually deliberately making it worse. I was ready to buy this when I saw the leaks, now I'm more interested in pirating the older version
I wonder if there is a way to get my Ikea pack tacked on to this version somehow.

milk is organic and has a shelf life of a few weeks at best, video games are digital and have a shelf live of infinity

Let's defend a multi-billion company that keeps milking us for money whenever they can :3
I'm confused, are we still talking about milk or are we talking about The Sims?

yes
It was free only for people who already bought the original game after the promotion ended. I do agree with the sentiment that they should've added more substantial fixes to make it worth the price tag tho.

It was not. You only had to enter a code to redeem it. There were no particular conditions. And if you had missed the window, you could go to Support Chat and ask for it and they'd add it to your account.

That's just plain wrong. Digital games do age and stop working. Most old games don't run on modern systems anymore or are incredibly unstable or stuck in 4:3 ratio because widescreen monitors didn't exist at the time.

Even now we have ultra wide monitors 21:9 or 32:9 and so many games (even more recent ones) do not support such features.
