voices sound really low quality??

there's a really low quality to the voices in this rerelease that weren't present in the original game. it sounds like the voice files were run through an audio cruncher and had their quality dropped as low as they could go. it feels like i'm listening to them speak through a phone. there's an echo effect to the voices too

the voice files in the sims 2 have always been high quality, and no, it's not me 'misremembering' because of nostalgia. the last time i played the original version was a few months ago, they never sounded like this

I am also having this issue. It is extremely obvious when wearing headphones. Changing the audio quality does not fix the issue.

i recommend going to the EA forums post i made/linked and commenting this there as well as liking the post. the devs only ever listen if bugs are reported there

yes, the sound quality is also rather poor for me. *Sigh* You can tell that Ea has tested NOTHING but really nothing in the game beforehand ><.

typical EA. this is why i don't buy their crap anymore, i just got blinded by nostalgia this time

can't say i'm surprised they gave the sims 2 this treatment tho, they knew that if they actually fixed it then people would stop playing sims 4 and buying packs lmfao

I was thinking I was going crazy thinking that voices sound unbearably poor. In particular toddlers now screech in ultrasound. I hated their screams in the original games, but now I need to lower the game volume as it is almost physically painful to hear lol

It is incredible how this is even an issue in the re-release

yesss omg the babies and toddlers sound unbearable. they were always high pitch but in LC they sound compressed to oblivion for some reason

Trust me a 20 yr old game doesnt need high end top of the line modern hardware even if it is a rerelease. in theroy this game should be able to run on the crappiest low end modern laptop with no issues
