the fact that they used to give it away for free on Origin :D
but tbh I'll pay for it IF the game is actually fixed and I could delete my huge mods folder with all the essential fixes

Doubt it, from what I've seen its basically the same game. Game worked fine before, there were just issues with the UI at decent resolutions.

I see it as I'm not buying the game again, I'm paying EA to make the game available on modern comcputers for problems that was impossible to forsee 25 years ago.

I've already installed Sims 2 from disc on multiple computers and have it work, and from what people are saying, EA hasn't fixed the problems. I want it 100% install, optimized and playable if they want me to pay for it again.

It was not impossible to foresee having a fixed pixel resolution would have been a problem, the last expansion came out in 2008 and even in 2004 it wasn't uncommon to have a 1600 x 1200 monitor. My CRT that I still use is 2304 x 1440 and is from the 90s, and 2048 x 1536 res monitors were also available.

But still all those problems seem to remain, just a cash grab.

I'm gonna try it. If it keeps crashing all the time I get a refund from Steam within the 2 hours played limit. I got all the disks, I got installed all the expansion packs and all the patches, it kept crashng, I tired everything, including the 4Gb patch, but nothign worked( I might have installed it wrong). If I can get a version of the games with all expansion and it works ok and not crashes all the time, I say it's worth it. If not I get a refund.
Lame

EA or not, were you expecting this to be free? Better yet, why are you here complaining when you already own it? Are you that inept or just miserable with your entitlement?

They would have to issue Steam keys, and they have no history of doing so. The only reason Bethesda issued Steam keys from their store was because they had shut down their store.

Why would you want this version which is lacking content when the Ultimate edition which you own is much better? Because from what I've read this IS the ultimate edition, with all the same bugs and all.
