I don't get why The Sims 4 fans are so scared that Sims 2 will "replace" Sims 4. It will never happen. Here is the reasons:

1- The Sims 4 is the most profitable game in the series due the high price and number of dlc. People whaled in the game, so it's very valuable. People are not going to stop playing 4 after spending so much money on it, and just play 2, not after spending 3/4 digits on it. It literally became an investment.

2- The new generation really values ​​graphics and The Sims 4 have the best graphics of the series. Sure The Sims 2 have more animations, but that's not enough.

3- The only people who really cares about 1 and 2 are muh nostalgia ppl (me included) I don't think it will hold much attention from the new generation. And I'm only talking about The Sims 2 in this case. The Sims 1 didn't aged well and it's 100% for nostalgia ppl (and there is nothing wrong with that)

sims 4 is only profitable because you have to buy everything. reason many stick to 3 is, you have no need to buy a seperate 30 buck pack just to get the pool thats been included in the games since day one

Yeah, unfortunately, people still supported it.
At bare minimum, The Sims 4 base should came out with some pets options (dogs and cats); weather; (seasons and rain); pool (with jumping board) and Toddlers. So we don't get the predictable expansion packs. But we got what we got. I was hoping for it on The Sims 5, but I guess that's not happening. But who knows what the future holds. Maybe they get to their senses and make The Sims 5 happens. Or maybe they are just waiting for AI to start coding. EA would 100% support that.

gonna go ahead and use this blatant rage bait to remind everyone that in order to have all the extra content (And by extra I mean things that should have already been in that bare bones game or things that barely count as expansions) you're gonna have to shill out ~1000 dollars. But fret not! For our great overlords at EA have deemed us pathetic creatures fit to allow us to purchase some of their wondrous products for half off in order to make the game feel complete, thus not needing to spend ~100 dollars! Now you only need to spend 800!

Also going to remind everyone, Sims 5 will be even worse :)

lol nope. Why? Sims 4 is missing too much, details are lacking it's too expensive & honestly I'd rather play sims 2 it has a superb modding community with Jacky93 making functional mods & cc & I can easily get my fav sims 4 cc from Jacky made functional like vacuums or food machines or I can get whole sims 4 packs converted from Lord Crumps or sims4t2bb don't care much bout Sims 4..

I can put pictures in a painting folder & have my sim paint custom pics without learning how to make mods, we got cutscenes, no simulation lag & it's just overly better.

There will be no The Sims 5. They announced it a while back. So get ready for The Sims 4ever. And some bad spinoffs. Search "The Sims labs Town Stories" looking pretty bad already. They are really desperate cuz of Paralives and Inzoi.

Inzoi and Paralives aren’t even out yet, but I already love them for giving EA/Maxis competition.
They’ve gotten way too complacent being the only real “life-sim” around (one needs to only look at the sheer amount of DLC and how much content they add for the price,) but now that there are some new kids on the block getting a bit of attention, they’re absolutely fumbling.

We aren't all Sims 4 players checking out 2 for the first time. Sims 2 and Sims 4 are *very* different games. Sims 2 is much more about worldbuilding, while Sims 4 is more focused on picking one or a small number of sims and playing them through specific scenarios. These things appeal to very different types of players. 2 might be fun to peek in on for 4 players, but those of us who are original 2 players and cling to the old one, it's because of the things they removed in newer versions.
