I give sims 4 one thing though and that is build mode. If the thing you like the best in the sims is to build you shoudl definatly stick with the sims 4. The Sims 4 build mode is far superior to the 3 other games. Unfortunatly it lack in gameplay, it lack immersivness, it's lazy animation programming, and sms can go from mad to happy in 2 min from a few decorative stones. They seem to have no memory and it's just not fun. The bigest thing is that they got rid of all the easeter eggs. Try and make your sims make uot infron of their teens, set the house on fire with a toddler in a crib or have 2 hungry toddler and give a bottle to only 1 and see what happens.
