My household disappeared :-(

Playing on steam deck, anyone else have this happen?

I was playing my household consisting of only one sim, Nova. I switched over to the Curious household with saving. Saved intermittently while playing the Curious household. One of the Sims in the Curious household died, so I returned to the neighborhood without saving and attempted to return to Nova's house. I got stuck on the loading screen for her household, so I exited the game by doing "exit game" on the steam deck menu and loaded it back up.

The Curious household is the same as it was during the previous save (before one of the Sims died), but my sim, Nova, has disappeared. She isn't in the apartment I moved her into, she isn't in the family bin, and she doesn't show up in any of the relationship panels for the Curious household.

Anyone know of any fixes? Super frustrating!

If I were to be completely honest you might need to do a test run where you have your sim live somewhere else besides an apartment. The problem with apartments is that they may have some bugs not specifically mentioned yet by EA that might need fixing and at the same time cannot be corrected with mods.

Shoot, I didn't realize there might be bugs with the apartments! I appreciate your response!

something similar happened to me, but I was playing one sim/household fine and when i made a new one i got to play that lot twice, next time i loaded the game (on pc) everything was gone. both houses had reset to default and both of those families were erased from the game. there was nothing in the files made it seem like i had ever played at all. hours of play/work gone, very disappointing. I have the game on the EA app rather than steam but still.
