While I'm not going to throw out an absurd run-on sentence full of nonsense like the guy above me, yeah, this isn't too surprising.

Didn't these packs include game data? If they were just mod packs it'd probably have been at least some kind of defense, but you know, corporations gonna kill off their own fanbases if they think they can make five bucks doing it.

Why would they strike it down with a DMCA if it was not piracy or some other form of copyright infringement

according to EA it IS copyright infrigment. The whole thing is available publicly: https://github.com/github/dmca/blob/master/2025/02/2025-02-10-the-sims-2.md
The Sims Legacy Collection and The Sims 2 Legacy Collection are by far the cheapest games to get in the entire Sims series. Nobody should be pirating them despite their mixed reviews on Steam. You get more from the these games for example than The Sims 3 plus all dlc combined. Even then when I had start a new account with The Sims 3 to make it launch again I not only lost store content, but also lost all dlc as well. When I tried to repurchase Seasons as a test run to see if it would work it would not because the dlc would refuse to download after purchasing it a second time regardless of whether it was purchased from Steam or even on EA App where I technically purchased this dlc three times total and not just once or twice because I was confused as to why Seasons would not download again purchasing it from Steam when it was on sale for a 50% discount that at the same time was not recognized as me owning this dlc on EA App. So that means I cannot get dlc anymore plus store content and forced to be stuck with only just basegame on The SIms 3 contrary to The SIms and The Sims 2 Legacy Collections where you get all dlc immediately (except for IKEA with The Sims 2) upon purchasing basegame.
