Best website for mods
https://modthesims.info/

The forums are a great place for support and provide a list of mods that fix all of the legacy bugs that EA never fixed with the rerelease.

I’ve installed of the of the recommended mods and have not encountered any issues.

some say modthesims.com and that seems to be the only one because its the only one people talk about regarding mods i dont really trust it sometimes as there is not really a way to tell what mods are up to date and which ones are not

There are mods also on Mod Nexus but the selection isn’t as good. This game is also 15 years old so much has not changed

Just read the comments on the mod. Also keep in mind it doesn’t seem that EA has done anything to fix the legacy bugs so it seems that the most recent mod still works.

There is also a curated list of all mods still deemed “necessary” and address that this version is now out. I personally haven’t had any of the issues that other forum users are experincing but I also installed all of the required fix mods.

But the golden rule is “Mod at your own risk.k

Lots of the legacy issues were around saved game corruption due to the way the
Memory system was created. Deleting sims and moving families could cause corruption as well. (This happened to me many, many, years ago).
