Should I get this?

I tried a bit of Sims 4 and heard the community around it is pretty divisive so instead of spending money on expansions and stuff should I just buy the sims 2 instead especially when it goes on sale?

Sims 2 is the best game of the series, especially if you are a very creative player. But currently, the game is not yet as polished as it should be, I would advise that you wait for it to go on sale.

Modded Sims 3 is the best-ever life sim game, if only if it was ever optimized. Hours-long loading times are not uncommon in that game even for the most powerful gaming pc's.

Are you talking performance mods or gam mods?

Both. Performance mods from nraas is absolutely essential to make the game run smoothly. Gameplay mods are essential to alter some annoying game features.

Same goes with Sims 2, it needs a few gameplay mods to look more natural.

Both need mods to be stable. More so for Sims 3.

In Sims 3, everyone grows old with your family. In Sims 2, you have to play each and every family in town to have them age together.
