Yeah I just booted it up for the first time, and when I click "Create a Family" it just CTD's without any warning, nor error message.
Same issue. Sims 2 runs just fine. The Sims keeps crashing. Every time I hit the "Start" button it would load then crash. Finally got it to run after 7 attempts, clicked on "Create a Family" and it crashed again.

I'm thinking of buying 2 I used to play it in 2008 lol. I was adding additions to my Sims house and like Gamer Bhoy says, it just crashes with no warning.

Same here - can't even get past the loading screen and most of the time it doesn't even get that far
Same here! Just booted the Sims Legacy Edition and it crashes when I try to create a family. I uninstalled and re-installed to no avail.

Same. Blank neighborhood and crashes when I try to create a family or move to any of the other maps. I also looked up solutions for this and none of them fixed any of the issues :(
I found this in another thread and copying the "UserData" folders worked for me! Thank you to loisrouers for posting this

Here are the troubleshooting steps that worked for me on Windows 10
1. Go to the directory where you have installed The Sims
2. Right click on Sims.exe and click on properties
3. Click on the “Compatibility” tab at the top
4. Tick the box beside “Run this program in compatibility mode for:” and select “Windows 7”
5. Tick the box beside “Run as administrator”
6. Create a shortcut on the desktop of Sims.exe (game launcher)
7. Right click the shortcut to Sims.exe on your desktop
8. In the “Shortcut” tab, add the following to the end of the Target text field: -w -r1024x768
It should be now > "D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\The Sims Legacy Collection\Sims.exe" -w -r1024x768

For the neighborhood being empty and crashing when you want to create a sim :
1. Go to the directory where you have installed The Sims
2. Copy the folders :
UserData
UserData2
UserData3
UserData4
UserData5
UserData6
Userdata7
UserData8
3. Open the file search and go to C: > Users > select your name > saved games > Electronic Arts > The Sims 25
4. Paste the folders in The Sims 25
5. Launch the game from the desktop shortcut

I hope this helps <3

For me it worked finally! I was almost asking for refund... if it helps, I didn't tried step 8 changing the shortcut, just opened it directly on the folder!

Thank you so much @SorryGorilla @loisrouers !
