HTTPS encrypts connection between two computers and it's secure in a sense that your computer is talking in secret codes with the other computer so someone who might want to listen in on the conversation won't understand what the two of you are talking about. It's not secure in a sense that malicious files can't be shared over it.

Relying on whether you're connected over HTTPS to a website to determine if it's malicious or not is not a good idea. Just a warning to those who might want to take this advice.
