The Sims™ Legacy Collection

The Sims™ Legacy Collection

Thanks EA for always being disappointing
I was legit looking forward to playing this and the Sims 2 collection that they rereleased only to then hear that they did a poor job porting the games. I keep hearing that this port has some missing features, bugs, and crashes which sucks really hard because I totally would have bought this. I grew up with the console ports of Sims 1 and 2 on my Gamecube when I was a kid and I always wanted to play the pc originals because even when I was a kid I knew the pc versions were superior. I pirated the sims 1 on myabandondware on my old computer which broke not too long ago, but regardless apparently its kind of a pain to get the original Sims to run on modern hardware especially if you own the physical pc discs for this game. I probably wouldn't have pirated it if I was able to purchase the game earlier but regardless I can't anymore on Myabandonware because that website takes down download links for old pc games if there is a way to purchase them legally. I didn't even get the opportunity to play my pirated copy lol.

I am curious why did EA not rerelease this game earlier? Apparently from what I heard EA for some reason would not rerelease this game and I think the Sims 2 also? It just shows how little respect EA has for this series since this is how they handle the older games legacy and also how much they respect Maxis I guess who are the true developers of the Sims and Simcity. Apparently Maxis the original dev team doesn't exist anymore thanks to EA.

Just download original games from https://archive.org/ :-) . And myabandonware or other sites still works, just use https://web.archive.org/ for older versions of these sites, there are sometimes still links on Mega or Mediafire to download them :-) .

We shouldn't have to go though this its a good alternative but point it being on steam makes it more accessible to play even on the steam deck

I know, but actually, the Steam version is now less accessible on older versions of Windows (not working on XP, Vista and even Windows 7) . So for me (I still using Windows 7) purchase this game was only waste of 20 € :-/ . So I had to download original game from archive.org , because on my original CD were too much scratches and not readable anymore, and the Steam version not working. So.

I see a lot of beautiful people here already gave tips. I'm still hoping they fix the problems with the sims eventually. I have noticed that the game runs fine for almost everyone on steam deck (I haven't seen anyone saying they couldn't get it to run on steam deck) so at least there's that.

Does the game still have missing neighbors? I heard when you boot this version of the game there are no buildings or other sims at all and apparently there is supposed to be some?
I have the entire collection of sims 1 and 2 on discs. But all my old computers broke and was discarded... Also some of the discs are unreadable with scratches now too. It would be nice if EA fixed the broken game they released on steam so we all could play it again. But no they won't. So frustrating!

Why would they waste their time on these updates when most can't even play the game. That is where they need to start. I have noticed that none of the patches actually has solved why the game will not work on windows 10... My computer is up to date on everything!

Some say it works for them but it does not work for me so i call BS!
