Solution:
Go to: - C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Sims Legacy Collection - Copy the folder named "UserData" As well as "UserData1, UserData2" Etc up to UserData8
Paste the "UserData" and UserData(number) Folders in C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\Saved Games\Electronic Arts\The Sims 25
Reasons why the crash happens: Game tries to check the folder where sims are created, doesn't find it, and crashes because of it. Same folder holds the houses.
Editing to say for me (Linux/steam deck):
Go to:
Home/deck/.local/share/steam/steam apps/common/The Sims Legacy Collection
Copy the User data folders to:
Home/deck/.local/share/Steam/steam apps/compatdata/3314060/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Saved Games/Electronic Arts/The Sims 25
And then it works
I would guess the numeric folder name in compatdata won't be the same, but hopefully this helps with where to look
Perfect thank you very much now the game seems to work.
My god how stupid that i fall for this ea ♥♥♥♥ every time ...
