Game crashing on startup? Try my solution!

First, open Settings, then navigate to System > Display > Graphics.
Try to search for "sims" under "Custom options for apps", and if unsuccessful, click Browse.
Navigate to file path:
C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/The Sims Legacy Collection
and choose Sims.exe (4,9 KB)
Once added, in the same window click on the game, then click Options and switch to Power saving (GPU: Intel(R) UHD Graphics) and click Save.
Tested on Win11

Also, if you want to have more accessible GUI, you have to change the system resolution before launching the game. For me 1280x720 was good enough. Hopefully, EA will take care of these problems soon...

Does it happen everytime? Is it still playable?
I managed to create a quick family, and move him into the house. Then I created this discussion post to help other people. I assume it's working fine, but have no time to check everything.

Sorry, I did all you said and mine still does not work, Windows 11.

Initially boots up, but briefly shows a red screen with FIXME: WMP and then crashes when loading “Recomputing Mammal Matrix”. All happening on Steam Deck, completely unplayable.

didn't work for me on Win11. I only have integrated graphics and power saving mode havn't changed the behaviour of the game. It immediatly crashes after the steam startup.
