Coming back with a lead on why the game might be crashing so much.
I use a 5120 x 1440 monitor screen resolution, so I decided go and use an another screen resolution on the same monitor.
This time I loaded up the game while using 1366 x 678 display resolution. After testing the game 10 times where the Burglar enter the house I had zero crashes. I went back to my normal 5120 x 1440 Display resolution and the game crashes right away after the Burglar comes into the house to steal the item.
But the main issue is I play on a higher Display Resolution since it's easier on my eyes to read and play games.
Hopefully this is a good lead for someone to come up with a possible fix
Can anyone else post their display resolutions that are crashing? and if you have a save where the burglar enters the house can you test it to see if it crashes with a lower display resolution.
Yep this worked for me. I'm on 3440x1440 ultrawide and it was crashing. Alt + Enter to go into a small window and no crashes when the burglar picks up the item. Guess I'll get used to alt + enter every time a burglar turns up, treat it as some added jeopardy!
Thanks for the tip!
I'm not sure what exactly causes the issue over there since so many things are going on at once so i'll just run the lower screen resolution as I play for now.
