Sims 1 frame rate issue
When I have 1 sim on screen it runs perfectly. More than one sim on screen absolutely tanks the performance. I absolutely love this game but it's almost unplayable if I want to get my social meter up. Anyone know of any potential fixes already? I know it's only been a few hours since it released.
Or I'll have to hope they update it at some point

how to lower resolution:
right click on desktop home screen.
screen settings --> screen resolution --> 1280x720

you have to do this every time you wanna play sims 1.

This is not true. I was playing on 800x600 resolution and have the same FPS problems.
same. lowering resolution did NOTHING
There's zero difference in FPS when going from 800x600 to 4k. It's an issue with the new engine.
i have this issue too, it work's fine for a while then slowly the frame rate drops to where the game crashes. It's a shame, as if it wasn't for this it would probably run alright! I hope they fix this in a patch soon.

You had me in the first half, not gonna lie (:
Guys, try enabling AMD's Performance Overlay, It worked for me. I noticed the fps goes up when I bring AMD overlay (alt + Z), so I tried the performance overlay and it worked! Looks like AMD GPUs doesn't "recognize" the game so they don't do anything to rasterize it lol. Enabling the performance overlay brings the fps up, though not to what should be full speed. For me it goes from 3fps up to 30, so it is at least playable now.

It actually works! But still unplayable for me when entering the magic world, maybe enabling other AMD options and this could work

Turns out playing with an adobe illustrator file open makes the FPS even higher, maxing out, weird bug on AMD rly. You have to give the GPU something to make the core clock go up so the FPS doesn't drop

that is strange, you basically have to put a false load on your GPU to make it stay at 100% utilization whilst running the sims legacy.. it's so silly how they haven't fixed this yet!

Hopefully AMD can run a patch for this?

Well one of EA's CM has said that the devs are aware of this issue and are looking into it, so at least it isn't being totally swept under the rug
