Stuttering all of a sudden
I am seeing that people are having some issue with 1080p and/or dual monitor set ups. I'm not sure if my issue is a result of these or not (I have a 1080p desktop monitor and my laptop open... the desktop is my main monitor and I play on it).

At first everything was fine... then last night I noticed that my game starts to slightly stutter ever few seconds. I don't know if this is because of some item I recently purchased and placed in the home, the layout of the house, or from the update. I didn't notice anything before last night, though... so I don't know.

I tried selling off some of my more recent purchases but to no avail which makes me think it is in the game itself.

Any ideas or possible solutions?

Thanks!

I was running the game fine but yeah now I'm getting micro stuttering as well. I was running it at 1080p too. It runs great on my steam deck though. Does anyone know a fix for this? Tried running it at lower res to see if it helped but it doesn't. I have the game on the EA app as well and it does the same there. i bought it when it the day it dropped and it ran perfectly till just recently.

I have come across an update to my problem... which makes it actually worse/weird.

So... what happens is that the stuttering only occurs when I move my mouse. So... Once I set a que of actions for my sims before they get up from bed, everything seems fine. it is paused at this point usually (I usually 3x sleep then pause when it's time to wake up, set the que, then unpause).

Everything seems fine in this moment... then... I move my mouse and there is a stutter.

I discovered that I can actually completely freeze the game. As in 100% stop time in the game and freeze it absolutely. All I have to do is just wiggle my mouse cursor in fast circles.

As long as I'm constantly moving/changing direction with the mouse the game stops. The cursor usually changes from the ingame cursor to my normal desktop resolution basic windows arrow when this happens (it normally flickers really fast in time with the stutter...but if i'm forcing infinite stutters through constant movement then the cursor stays in the windows style).

So the game literally stutters... if I play it.
Just tried this myself and yeah. The game will totally freeze whenever I move my mouse, at least on my Laptop. Plays perfectly still on my Steam Deck. Very weird.
