And that's gone now for "the health of the game"
AKA they just want more money.
"We heard your complaints, but we don't care"?
Listen to your community before the game dies
Roll back the update, give us the new weapons as exotics, and give us the armor update
And NEVER lock game play behind a PAYWALL again
And then after that, just prioritize new content instead of fearing a meta or worrying about reworking the core game.
Warframe does this, why can't you?
Just listen, this update is bad, that's why the positive reviews are only 15%
WE aren't the crazy ones
You don't value our time (you took away weapons and lanterns we already earned recombobulated them and are trying to sell them back to us)
You don't value the money we spent either.
You put the arcslayer armor which was part of a package I purchased into the loot boxes, to pad out your season pass because you're creatively bankrupt.
How long until the god hand armor is added to a loot box.
Thanks for giving us patrol keys though when you removed the middleman and our additional slots.
Thousands of hours gone in the blink of an eye and what do we get? 18 weapons from the hundreds that were available. We can level up ONE weapon to "almost fully leveled". You make lootboxes (which, btw, illegal as hell in the EU), you paywall new weapons, you put Weapon Tokens behind an insane, timegated grind that doesn't even allow purchase of new weapons over the course of SIX WEEKS (seriously, are you actually crazy?), you ruin our builds...I could go on, but many others have and will likely continue to point out how much you've failed, not just your players and game, but yourself.
Your best and only move would be to revert things back to the Reforged era (which wasn't perfect, but it was leagues better than what we have now), but the condescending way you're talking to us and doubling down on the suite of terrible choices you made proves that you're committed to letting your game die without a shred of awareness or dignity. You had an amazing game at your fingertips and it's ruined. I had the smallest, faintest amount of hope that after seeing the feedback, you'd reconsider things and maybe roll back, but even that's gone now.
Your game won't even last long enough for Frostfall to matter.
To all new players, find something else. Wait for Wilds so you can play something polished, complete, and worth your time. Go play Toukiden 2 or God Eater 3. To all fellow veteran players who lost everything and got a hat and a wave to show for it, remember the good times.
Oh, and don't give Phoenix Labs any money.
Removing weapon choices and moving lantern abilities to weapons, while also removing cell slots from them, does NOT offer more weapon options. All you succeed in doing is funneling people into styles of play they don't like or want. I really wish game developers would stop removing options from players while trying to gaslight them into thinking their options have somehow expanded.
Weapon crafting needs to return, cells need to be reverted back the way they were, hunt passes need functional weapons removed entirely, functional weapons need to be removed from the store.
Un-retire the systems you retired or you'll be facing the very real possibility of retiring the game itself before long. Prove me wrong and actually listen AND hear player feedback, for once.
Although I’m not sure if there’s anyone left on your team capable of reading messages outside of work chats.
I played during the Closed Beta Test, back when the game constantly lagged, kicked me out of hunts at the boss’s last HP, and required downloading from your website.
Then you launched on EGS. Despite not being a fan of that launcher, I joined just for you. I logged over 50 hours, then had to take a break. Six months later, I returned with two friends, and together we racked up over 500 hours in your game.
I bought consumables and skins, got Twitch Premium to collect your codes, and spent over $400 on all the great things you were doing. My friends and I happily supported you with our money. At one point, I even argued on Twitter, claiming your game was better than Monster Hunter.
But then came the first wave of major changes. Weapon balance and core gameplay began to falter. Then came the weapon overhaul and hunting grounds, which turned the strategic, targeted hunts into running around like a bunch of kids chasing cornered behemoths. The magic quickly faded.
Instead of thrilling escalation runs to craft awesome weapons and armor, it became about mindless AFK farming to grow numbers and weapons. So, I left.
All my friends left too. The streamers I used to watch moved on—shoutout to Oh Dough! Dauntless became a fond memory of a once-amazing project, ruined by developers who wanted to turn a great game into something else, instead of just creating a new game entirely.
And then came the announcement of the big update. One of my friends found the trailer, shared it with everyone, and we started waiting. Weapon switching mid-fight? That sounds amazing! New behemoths, fauna, tons of content! You promised a return to the game’s roots, calling back veteran players...
So, what do we get in the end? You took away everything my friends and I grinded 500 hours for. You took away the ability to craft the weapons we wanted. Some weapons are now locked behind paywalls and timewalls. You killed variety, the drive to achieve, and the joy of collecting every weapon and armor piece. And then you have the audacity to claim it’s for our benefit? To pave the way for “more cool variations” in the future?
To those who wrote and approved that nonsense post:
Right now, I ask you to throw out all the food in your fridge. Leave your families. Throw away your smartphone, your clothes, quit your job. Now go and live your life. Don’t worry! You’ll meet so many cool new people, get new clothes, a new phone, a new job, a new family. Who cares if you have to start over from scratch and lose everything you’ve worked for? After all, manufacturers need money, and you’ll earn it and buy it all back again. That’s how it works, right?
NEVER take away something players have already earned through their effort. Whether it’s time or money, it doesn’t matter. You’ve spat in the face of those who’ve supported you since the Closed Beta, only to turn around and say it’s our fault? Good luck with your Steam ratings.
