Trying to blame the current scuffle on "haters" refusing to give the update a chance is ludicrous, considering the most common complaint is that veterans lost much of their progress and were only compensated with skins and currency. Of COURSE they aren't going to give the update a chance; they have no interest it spending another hundred hours grinding for stuff they already had.
Ask any competent DM, and they'll say that deleting players' progress without a VERY good reason (or permanently locking away stuff they haven't earned yet) is one of the quickest ways to an absolute RIOT among your playerbase. Compare this to MonHun, where any progress you make is absolutely permanent (unless you do something crazy like delete your character), and you can even have multiple characters to boot! Great if you want to start fresh, like I did this summer after getting a 4k monitor and wanting to experience immersion again.
Meanwhile, in Dauntless, "starting fresh" isn't a personal choice, it's an OBLIGATION. No wonder people are jumping ship and leaving furious reviews, just like with Overwatch 2.
Hi, I'm a veteran - my weapons got turned into skins - I still play Dauntless since the update dropped though. I never said all changes they made were good, im just saying it is in no way shape or form a game deserving of the 'Overwhelmingly negative' score - there's definitely a dogpile going on.
I also didn't need to start fresh, I had to do a few tutorial missions.. that's it. There's a lot of misinformation out there.
Okay, but none of that actually addresses my argument. You've just made vague insinuations about how because you don't mind the changes, everyone else needs to buck up and deal with it, while ignoring how the developer's questionable decision-making has made both existing and new players furious.
Trying to blame negative reviews on "dogpiling" and "misinformation" without making any actual attempt to engage with the CONTENT of those negative reviews just makes you a whiteknight, caring about a corporation that certainly does not care about you.
Whatever one may think of MonHun, there's no contesting the fact that Dauntless is NOT a competitor for it. Not after they repeatedly wiped people's progress in the name of forcing FOMO and MTX down their few die-hard adopters.
Im sorry to inform you that youre in the minority and your opinion is wrong.
MH is the best series ever created with world being the absolute best.
Wilds will top it, milions of people will play it.
If you put a gun to my head and demanded I pick a non-World game as the best MonHun, my instinct is to go with either Tri due to putting hundreds of hours into it on Wii (probably my most-played game on the platform besides Smash Bros. Brawl), or Rise because I love the Japanese architecture.
Sure, the internet is all anonymous... but you will know who you are...
Are a few stickers and avatars that you could have gotten from the internet for free worth the memory of being a moron?
