Question about weapons from the Dauntless shop

So I have a question. The In-game shop offers the option to purchase special weapons which are not designated as skins. Not sure if that was the case three years ago, but seemingly now it is. But the question is: How viable are those weapons, if one decided to purchase them? Are they worth it from a beginner's/returnee's viewpoint, if we ignore the current state of the game?

also most of the chainblades are now gone and the newest weapon a chainblade with a unique gameplay is in the elite hunterpass behind a 9,99 paywall

Yeah, I noticed that. I definitely remember having Chain blades as weapons on my account, all of them are now gone, which was frustrating, hence I'm contemplating on getting myself chain blades as a replacement, but I don't want to regret my purchase IF I end up to buy it.

I would wait a bit on that, after all the chaos going on in the community rn there's bound to be some action on the dev's side, and no matter what it will affect the weapons, so maybe hold on a bit on buying stuff.
Also, there is a chainblade you can get from a questline fairly early on, have a look at those.

What chainblade is on the elite pass? There is a set of repeaters on the pass that are actually quite good but I don't see any chain blades. Also the currency for the weapons in the shop can be gained through game play without spending a single dime of real money. And yes most those weapons are worth getting and have abilities you used to have to kill keystones to get. Jesus I get everyone being annoyed with the changes but all the false information and flat out lies about loot boxes and weapons is getting ridiculous.
