You think the negative feedback for weapons is bad now? wait until people run out of the tokens they got from the update then are timegated 6 weeks and still only have 85/100 (weekly challenge gives 10 x 6) + 25 from free pass required to buy a new weapon.
Please tell me weeks 2-6 have more than 10 weapon tokens on their challenges...
- Weapon switch while fighting is realy nice
And now the bad ones:
- deleting weapon craft system, one of the key mechanics of the game
- deleting lanterns and put the skill in the rare number of weapons without able to switch skills
- every weapon have legendary skill (Legenary skill on all weapons makes it common and not legendary)
- just one weapon of each type (well for free but without crafting new ones its borring)
- new weapons only in the shop for extreme hard to grind coins or real money
- way to less number of weapons for each type and element
- missing cell slots on weapons
- missing weapon mods
Not good but not bad:
- level system of each weapon (and not the weapontype) but please get reforge again
- more than one behemoth of a kind on a map
- weapon talend system itself
- armor upgrades
My opinion:
I think you should go back to the old Dauntless and instead of changing almost half of the game to something new, just add new features like weapon switch and upgrade system. And let the player at least get a little bit of Platin in a battlepass.
Despite still having a good time, not being able to craft different kinds of weapons is just weird, locking them behind hard-to-obtain tokens is just dumb, being forced to only use a single weapon of each class sucks.
Also, I'm not sure if this is how the game has been for the last couple years, but every behemoth dies within 3 minutes, what happened?
Back in the day these hunts felt like actual threats, lasting 10 minutes at the minimum, usually more like 15-20, now it feels like nothing more than a grindfest/slaughter with irrelevant rewards.
I honestly had a better time playing in the extremely buggy early builds with incredibly unstable servers than to turn my brain off and buttonmash in this current version.
The main point of over half the negative reviews that actually make sense so far is that we were nowhere near compensated enough for the many hours of grind we did prior to the update, I had over 500 hours in the game, and now my progress is the same as the people who had 250 or 1000.
Aside from that, did you guys really have to lock so many things behind a paywall? You don't lock gameplay features behind paywalls, even big companies like EA barely get away with it, and you guys were trying to revive the game.
The best you guys can do to salvage the situation, without reverting back the changes, is buff the cell system to make it broken enough to distract people, and give free stuff to both compensate properly the loss of progress and pull the attention away from/level the playground on the p2w stuff.
I wish you good luck on this, really, this is a good game with a great idea, but the greed on this update is ravaging the community.
Edit: Or just let us have multiple weapons of the same type, and choose what element each one is...
That doesn't need "feedback".
You just completely ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up one of the core concepts of hunting games.
Give us the new weapons as exotics and maybe start slowly switching over the rest into those kinds of weapons.
Alongside that, just stop focusing on reworks and stop worrying about your system being too complicated or worrying about the scary "meta"
And just release banger new content, escas, hunting grounds, behemoths, pets, bows, guild housing, player housing, etc...
The new content would bring in and keep new and old players which means more money.
If you doubt this, just go look at Warframe's economy, it's doing great with this almost exact same style of game (free to play, only sells cosmetics, can buy OR FARM AND CRAFT WEAPONS no time gate, well there is a time gate, but it's a maximum of three days, over 10 times less than what you guys are requiring...)
And they're doing better than dauntless and players can trade the premium currency over there!
The difference between Warframe and Dauntless and why you guys aren't doing too well right now is the lack of content updates, not issues from the core mechanics, old players aren't whining that they're bored or everything is the samey because of the core cells and weapons... they were saying that because there was nothing NEW to do.

99% of what I said is what people are complaining about on the steam reviews and discord, read those, ignore anything nonconstructive, and write down the valid criticism to adopt.
This game goes into the list of bad devs and publishers to never support again.
