And there is no way to unpause, not by hitting esc, the pause button on gamepad or any other key

I'm having issues replicating this on windows 10 (completely up to date). Can you tell me a bit more about your set up?

Thanks for sharing. Does this happen in every mode (narrative, operative, master)? Does it happen in level select? Thanks!
Also I should note that currently the difficulty switching options doesn't include Master mode, but with this fix I'll shoot to include that.
