Highlights:
"I can't go into further details here, but our company Ceres Games owns the exclusive rights to all assets and source codes of the cancelled project Chaos Chronicles. "
"Bigmoon and my former company Coreplay both had a business relationship with the now defunct publisher bitComposer, that's all we have in common."
"We're working on this game since about 16 months, then we announced it shortly after "Demons Age" got DMCA'd from Steam after two weeks in sale. I already stated that we are the solely owner of those assets from CC."
so does that mean i get an Invalid Key error because the Game got pulled of Steam shop.... I bought my Key today not on Steam.
Is the Key valid or will it be valid when the Game gets back on Steam?
On RPGWatch you explicitly said the game you worked on in 2014 was not Chaos Chronicles: https://www.rpgwatch.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1061459526&postcount=142
The CC in question was "Century of Chaos": https://steamcommunity.com/app/223120/
Hi poCHi - please refer to support@bigmoonstudios.com. We'll be looking into fixing that situation soon,
Bigmoon did get graphical assets and rights back in 2014. We have since then been developing Demons Age.
We did get a DMCA report by a recently created company. They allege they have the rights to those assets as well.
Bigmoon is left with two options:
1- To pass the dispute on to court(s). Each company would then have to present the proof regarding ownership of said assets and discuss who's entitled what.
2- To shrug this off and simply replace the remaining assets.
Despite having all the necessary documentation on our side, option 1 could postpone a final solution to this matter for quite a few months/years. Dragging this situation has never been in our interest. Given that work was already under way into adding more content to the game, we voluntarily decided, out of respect to our players, to replace said assets as part of the new patch and move on. We shall be releasing more content and a graphical overhaul on the game a few months from now. In the meantime, keep enjoying the game and feel free to send us any feedback. We apologize for any inconvenience this might bring our players and we thank you for your continuous support.
I have the same problem. I contacted the support-email, but after my first email more than a week ago I never got an answer even though I sent them a picture of the booklet with the key as they demanded. I want to try the game but frankly I'm really disapointed and I'm considering to send the game back to Amazon for a refund.
It really looks a good game and it is such a shame we can not purchase. Please provide an update.
i am waiting for the Game too so i asked the support from bigmoonstudios and the answer was "Yes, it will be released on steam again. Won't take too long now." :P
